Peakdale, was founded by Barry Snelson in 2002.

Whilst studying for his final Art and design course at Staffordshire University he gained work experience at the Royal Doulton studios. There he was amazed at the standard of sculpting and quality of craftsmanship. This was the area that Barry choose to pursue. On completing his studies he taught at a local college teaching Art and Design and ceramics. Whilst sculpting on a freelance basis, for well known companies in England.

He later joined Sherratt and Simpson, were he worked along side the owners and managers designing and making sculptures for the companies range. Here the first of many Westies we know today were made. Over the next six years he gained experience in the core elements of the design and manufacture of figurines.

In 2002 Peakdale was formed to develop new and exciting ranges, all hand made and painted in England. At Peakdale it is our belief that each and every piece is made to the highest standard possible. Using the finest materials and painters from Stoke On Trent each piece is individually hand decorated and finished with hand felted bases. Before any sculpture leaves the premises every finished item is checked to maintain the high standard expected.
